Tyranids are in first place, playing double flyrant/tervigon/dakkafex. Over half the field are playing Necrons with either Chaos SM allies or GK allies. Thoughts? :)
Looking at that list I noticed all bad guy stuff.
Orcs
Daemons
Necrons
Chaos Space Marines
Dark Eldar
Tyranids.
I noticed that Necrons with Chaos Space Marines or Grey Knights seemed to be a strong theme and something I have to plan against.
Also 11 out of the top 16 where Necrons, CSM, or GK
The rest have too many factors involve to really plan against.
1. Luck
2. How many play said list
3. Painting and sportsmanship can be factors
I take from that tournament and the currant meta to go anti Necrons/ Chaos Space Marines/ Grey Knights.
Very similar to the UK Indy GT results.
Usual suspects really, Double Dakka Nids, Crons/CSM, Crons/GK with the odd ELD/DE thanks to the Invisi Bike Council. Daemons have taken a hit since the new book as despite being pretty good they arent up to the level of the WD update they had.
Tau are going to change this though as none of those meta lists will be able to stand up to the triple missileside lists we are seeing.
Double Dakka Nids are doing well because their mosters dont really suffer too badly from Necron Tesla and all those S6 Devourers instant kill Wraiths once they enfeebled which they will be thanks to so many rolls on biomancy.
Whats kind of nice at the minute is that any of these lists can knock each other off depending on their matchups at a tourney, for instance triple helldrake is great against a lot of lists but really struggles with Cron Wraith Spam. DA Dakkawing are amazing against Wraithspam but get slaughtered by triple helldrake etc. From what ive seen so far it means that although we have the same 5/6 builds dominating any of them can win a tournaments as opposed to last ed were it was almost exactly the same GK build winning every single event. It had lists that could beat it but those lists werent good enough to go on and win the rest of their games at an event. Now at least we have some variation in winning armies although we have a pretty good idea that it will be one of a certain number of builds.
It is good to see 2/3 of the new codex books is in the top 16 with Tau missing the tournament. Besides Dark Angels it seems oth Chaos books are really good.
Took the liberty of BBCode formatting that table for you. It's a real pain to make tables in forums even if you've got experience at it, and the formatting from word processors goes all wonky and hard to read on you. ;)

Nice to see a UK guy going over to the US and getting 2nd, theres not a lot of cross over in terms of top players from countries playing abroad [besides the ETC], he was actually using the list of a friend of mine [got it through a mutual mate].
I hear that the SM/IG list in 16th was a bit of an interesting one with 3 Thunderfire Cannons.
I would love to see that pure Ork army is, surprised to see the ladz up their.
I think they are pretty scary this edition.
Orks won quite a big UK tourny with this build a few months back;
3x15 Lootas,
3x30 Shootas,
3x10 Grots,
2 Warpheads [for more Waaaghs for the Jets]
3 Dakkajets
Seriously shooty. Its very hit and miss though, I beat the guy using it at another tourney using a very poor list [just using what i had painted] and he finished badly with it there so its very matchup dependant. I only beat it thanks to it not being able to kll AV14 as it blew everything else away that werent hiding behind tanks.
They also won the first big tourney of 6th with Nob Bikes + Dakkajets but that was more to do with people getting used to the edition and settling on builds.
I really just can't get them to work at the moment. I think it's primarily because I just can't get out of my head that Orks are meant to beat things senseless in close combat, and this is a rather shooty edition.
The list you posted up though looks like a good start. Maybe drop a little (a jet and a unit of lootas?) to get some Deff Rolla wagons into the list to help deal with Av14?
Battlewagons will be even better now with Tau around. Ive heard about one of the recent Throne of Skulls this Ork build doing well with two battlewagons with Lootas in then a pair of Warboss' with Meganobz in battlewagons too. Throne of Skulls isnt really a competative field at all though but theres 100+ players at each one.
