Warhammer 40k / Re: Munitorum Field Manual 202...
Last post by Cammerz - April 16, 2021, 09:07:10 AM
Well if this is at least the third Mk I so far, I personally think they've forgotten. As I'm not expecting a response from the 40k rules team, I sent another to Customer Services this morning as they're usually pretty good at responding.

I also suggested that they start calling them Mk II, Mk III etc.

EDIT: Just received a response from Customer Support

"Please accept my apologies for any confusion between the printed and digital values.

I believe the lead time on White Dwarf and other printed matter means the values on the Warhammer Community PDF are the most up to date. Alas my poor Ork Nobz Kombi shoots are once again no longer free! Hopefully this will reassure your acolytes that the rokkits being shot at them are no longer manifested from thin air, but the opposing nobz had to pay some good teef for them!"

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know the Munitorum Field Manual was a thing, I haven't been paying much attention to warhammer news since I haven't been able to play since the first covid lockdown.

With the discrepancies, it's probably a misprint. The only question is, have they misprinted the point's value, or the Mk I?

Warhammer 40k / Munitorum Field Manual 2021 Mk...
Last post by Cammerz - April 15, 2021, 11:07:17 PM
Hey look, a new 40k post!

Not sure whether anyone here will have any insight but I've noticed that the Munitorum Field Manual 2021 Mk I that came with last month's White Dwarf has some disparities with the Munitorum Field Manual 2021 Mk I downloadable from the Warhammer Community site (dated 04/02/2021). I got the WD one more recently but I have no idea when it was printed.

There aren't many changes but I noticed that the WD one has Inquisitorial Acolytes 1pt cheaper than the PDF which affects two of my armies and several army lists.

I have a feeling that this is the third Munitorum Field Manual 2021 Mk I so far, it makes you wonder why they didn't call the second one Mk II and the most recent one Mk III.

Edit: I sent an email to the 40k rules team but, rather unhelpfully, the automated reply said "While we can't respond personally, rest assured that your message will be read and taken into consideration when we're writing the next set of FAQs."

I might give it another try at some point, but for now, I'm sticking to the systems that I know :3

I'm a huge fan of Age of Sigmar, it's my primary game these days. The brilliant models are just a bonus.

Check out my video for this model here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdGF4T-Xc2E

As insane as it sounds, I am indeed trying to return to my Wargaming Addiction, but more moderated now. I've pre-planned the armies I'm going to build, and will be scrounging eBay for the best deals to get just what I need for it.

Here is my rendition of Commander Bravestorm, one of The Eight, built to be codex compliant to the 4th edition Tau Empire codex I won.

This was my first experience with the new XV8 kit, and definitely impressed. Plenty of options and spare parts that a customiser like me can enjoy.

Enjoy some additional views of the model I show off at the end of the video above.

As my first foray back into miniature modelling, I'm pleased with the result :3

I agree with Cammerz, combined arms are meant to be the Tau's thing. That said, Seekers and Markerlights could do with some improvements to my mind. Maybe a short range pistol version of the markerlight to make it easier to get emergency hits off, and seeker variants, like an anti infantry missile, more access to destroyer missiles outside of superheavies, etc. Also Stratagems, like something that allows another unit to fire out of turn when an enemy gets within 12" of a unit you designate as the Lure during deployment (a true Kauyon rule, rather than the boring re-roll aura we have at the moment).

To be honest (and getting a little off topic), stratagems are something I feel could use a lot of work with the Tau. Of all the factions I feel the Tau deserve a bunch of powerful stratagems that require tricky circumstances to pull off. Like "use when X unit fires on an enemy with at least Y markerlight tokens and has friendly Z unit within 12 inches". I like the idea of the Tau really benefitting from having a plan and successfully executing it, it fits their theme and would help differentiate them from other factions

Well you could always give the Devilfish a couple of seeker missiles, but typically Tau work by supporting each other. They don't need a transport that can defeat armour because the Devilfish APCs should be supported by Hammerheads or Broadside Battlesuits which will give them sufficient anti-armour firepower.

When it comes to anti-air, I'm sure that was the original idea for the Skyray. Paint the fliers with markerlights and let fly with the seekers.

I feel the tau are missing something . we're lacking an infantry fighting vehicle. The devilfish is a fine vehicle it just doesn't have the  anti-vehicle firepower to support the firewarriors against other armies infantry fighting vehicle's.

Do we improve the devilfish? If so how and with what weapon or weapons do we arm it?

Or do we design a new one from the ground up?if so how and with what weapon or weapons do we arm it ?

An maybe we need some kind of antiaircraft vehicle too.
