Once again, incredible work with the sketches. I think the hobby section would be a good addition once the rules can be solidly settled on, which with a lack of recent debate could be now. Also a fluff section would be good

Although, it must be said, one should always have a Fantasy in
mind whilst playing with yourself...
Awesome. Now the americans (and any british troops with translator chips) can fire at +1 BS!!!

The XV-15 pic was pretty damn cool!  I liked the jumping XV-8 very much as well.

just to let you know, there is still a reference to the advanced battle net uplink on the devilfish, and iridium armor on the elite crisis suits. probably a few other small errors as well, like do you get multiple shas'o air strikes if you have multiple shas'o?

Thank you guys! you really encourage me to carry on!

I think the "coalitions" theme may be related to the "battle uplink" concept since different Shas'O could have under their command warriors from different septs, don't you agree?... but my overall feeling is that some issues within the TODex gets a little over complex approach. Please, don't take this as a disrespectful coment, if I wouldn't admire what you been doing I'd never feeled like contributing at least with some illustrations... anyway my feeling is that some issues could be simplier but no less interesting or useful. Anyway hope to get more illustrations proposals for the weekend, I'll try my best!

Cheers!

Also, any suggestions regarding the look of the "mako" could be useful!

I'd buy that for a dollar!

No seriously, I would buy it, or something similar, for a Tau Missile/Gun ship.

Thanks guys! Those pics are helpful indeed. I will try to make it look like an smaller version of this:

and taking in consideration your suggestions (by the way, does anyone recall an old PSone game called G-Police? seems to me that those could be a good reference too).

There's a Tau Wishlist thread that's running on Warseer, and they've come up with some interesting ideas there.  There were two suggestions that were brought up that might be in for perusal for the Kroot.

Quote from: Carlos
If you use Kroot as something more than a speed bump I don't thing they need that offensive change. (As this is a wishlist and not tactica) Kroot work best parked in cover and acting as a counter attack unit, pumping out fire then receiving the charge. Id rather they had some sort of rule that means they ALWAYS strike simultaneously with attackers, even ones with assault grenades.

Quote from: Balgora
How would you feel about an 'ambush from cover' rule to get the first attacks during the first round of combat and then revert to normal rules after that?

I ran them together for the following:

Ambush From Cover: Kroot's chameleon-like skin allows them to blend in with their environment.  When either assaulting from a position of Cover or being Assaulted in Cover, all Kroot models Strike First for the first turn of combat.  Otherwise, if not in Cover, for the first turn of close combat, their close combat attacks always strike at the same time as their opponent if the Kroot's Initiative is the same or lower (so still beat Boyz and Fire Warriors).

It may be a bit over-powered, but an interesting idea, nonetheless, eh?

Idea: make that one of the kroot's special abilities you can buy, for like 1 or 2 pts per model Cant come up with the name for those, i think u will know what im talking about.

Although, it must be said, one should always have a Fantasy in
mind whilst playing with yourself...

Evolutionary Adaptations?  It could work as one, though how to explain it with fluff... Maybe they are even stealthier than normal?

There is now a new version.

TODex version 3.86

Changes
–Shas'O Aerial Intervention now calls in a Barracuda Strafing Run of the target, raking it with an Ion Cannon, 2 Burst Cannons and 2 Missile Pods. It is of course a one use only ability.
–SMS option for Crisis Suits now includes a Pulse Cannon
–Pictures!

Been a while since I was here.

Anyway I like the new version of the TODex but...
a lot of stuff is underpriced for what it does.

To give an example here's a list I threw togeher after my initial read of the new version.

Quote
TODEX: Tau Empire 3.86

Firestorm Outcast  Cadre 2000
HQ 375pts

Commander Farsight 195
Commander Firestorm 2 Pulse Submunition Rifles, Tech Drone, Shield Drone, Ablative Armour and an Advanced Target Lock 185

Elites

Troops 825pts

2 XV-9 Hazard Suits: each with 2 2 Pulse Submunition Rifles 150

3x3 XV-8 Crisis Battle Suits: 2 Shas’ui each with 2 Missile Pods and Targetting Array and a Shas’vre with Fusion Cannon, Bonding Knife, Target Lock and Targeting Array 190x3=570

3 XV-8 Crisis Battle Suits: each with 2 Flamers and After Burners 105

Fast Attack 260pts
2 Nightfury Mako’s: 2 Marker lights, 2 Rail rifles and a Target Lock 130x2=260

Heavy Support 535pts
2 Skyray’s: with Burst Cannons, Disruption Pod, Targeting Array, Vehicle Multitracker 185x2=370

Hammerhead: Hammerhead Rail gun, Disruption Pod, Target Lock, Vehicle Multitracker 165

At least on paper this looks incredibly overpowered.

I'll give a more detailed review when I've used it one or 2 battles but I can see that 30 point is too cheap for a standard Crisis suit.

What is the reasoning behind the Barracuda stike only working withing 36" of the Commander, I would have though if he could see the target and give co-ordinates the aircraft could hit it?

Question: Why does the crisis commander cost more than the Hazard? Hazards cost more at all other places, plus the crisis is a lower rank. This may have already been asked but i am unsure so i am asking.

I just thought LoS and 36" represented a good size for clear visibility on the battlefield, and also serving as a range for a target marking device for the strike.

Because the Crisis Commander also has the Dynamic Assault special rule, which is quite powerful. ;)
